Who is responsible
Jean Horacius operates MemeHub and is the data controller for personal data processed through the Service.
Data we collect and why
- Account data (email, name, Google or Apple sign-in identifiers, including an Apple private-relay email if used) — to create and secure your account (contract).
- Photos and prompts you submit to AI features — processed only to produce your requested edit; not published publicly (contract).
- Battle activity (room codes, answers, scores) — to run meme battles (contract).
- Support messages — to answer your requests (legitimate interests).
- Usage and device data (IP address, browser, pages viewed) — for security, fraud prevention and improving the Service (legitimate interests).
Studio edits, local recordings and browser caption drafts stay on your device and are not sent to us. Payment details are collected by Stripe, not by us.
Who we share data with
- Service providers that host the app, database and AI processing on our behalf;
- Stripe for payments, subscription management, receipts, refunds and applicable tax services;
- Professional advisers (legal, accounting) where needed;
- Authorities where required by law.
Some providers may process data outside your country; we rely on appropriate safeguards such as standard contractual clauses where required.
Audience statistics
We count visits, page views and recently active browser tabs using temporary random identifiers held in memory, without analytics cookies or persistent browser storage. These statistics do not store your name, account ID, IP address, search terms or uploaded content. Live-site and preview counts are separate and visible only to administrators. Temporary activity records are removed after 24 hours of inactivity when another visit is recorded; daily aggregate counts remain.
Retention
We keep account data while your account is active and delete or anonymise it when no longer needed, or on request. AI input photos are not kept longer than needed to deliver the result.
Your rights
Use Account to edit your public profile, download your personal data or delete your account. Deletion stops recurring memberships and removes account content; financial records needed for tax, fraud prevention or legal obligations remain. Depending on where you live, you may also restrict processing, object, withdraw consent, and complain to your local data protection authority.
Security
We use appropriate technical and organisational measures, including encrypted connections and access controls, to protect your data.
Cookies
We use essential cookies and local storage to keep you signed in and remember preferences. We do not use advertising cookies. You can clear them in your browser settings.
